He was quite popular with people in the phreaking scene.
So I have been told, and that would explain why I had never heard of him until someone used that alias to muck about on paulie's BBS. ;)

I met him once; I bet I still have his "lock pick set" business
card somewhere.
He passed away a few years ago; cancer. Sadly, his wife was
pregnant with his unborn child at the time.
He was very good at social engineering, but he wasn't a particularly technical person.

When Shimomura or whoever it was released the realtime captures of
Kevin's sessions in his systems, there were SOO MANY typos and bad commands and stumbling around like an idiot. That's when I knew for sure :).
Maybe the oneliners needs to be strengthened a bit to validate the from field with who the message is actually from? I don't know who wrote the original mystic mod (i think it might have been gryphon?), but I think it would be fairly easy to do and maintain backward compatability.
Never heard of them.
This does beg the question -- why would someone go to all that trouble
People are morons.
I just put s255 in to only let me post. I won't but that definitely stops anyone else.
If an s255 for post on FSX_DAT, will the IBBS oneliners .mps be able to post in that base???

No, it would not allow users without proper access to save the message. They can run the app if the read access allows them read the message.
one option is to limit the user's ability to LIST the message base.
