Okay, good to know. Why not v3.20 install then?

I didn't want to upgrade to 3.20 on the Windows 7 machine. I wanted to move the working 3.19 bbs to the new machine and then upgrade to 3.20.

Now since 3.20 is working on the new machine, I have the choice of doing it either way (I think.)

Anyway, thanks for all of your help.

But just a few minutes ago, MRO got online with me and he figured
it out and now it is all working!!! YAY!!! Wotta guy! Big Thanks!

I had bad DLLs from the site I listed earlier in this thread.

But I think the first DLLs I copied from the original Windows 7
machine were the original problem as the error showed up before
I went searching for solutions on youtube and downloaded the junk
    DLLs.

Dont know. i do know that gamers use that pack of vc distributables with
the batchfile that launches them one by one and i see online gamers are complaining about this error msg.

So i think there is a mix of 32bit and 64
bit dlls. but like i said, you now have the correct ones in sbbs\exec so it will work fine for you in the future.

Sounds like a good opportunity to stop being an "autopilot sysop" and actually figure out how things work... You know, like a real sysop.

Would I then get to be more like you?
    I hope not.

You think that precisely because you're an autopilot sysop. Pffffftt.

The correct place to Microsoft packa
    is from Microsoft's web-sites. There

I'm waiting to see where to get the
    latest Macrohard packages.

Yeah the dude in the video was talking about needing them for gaming... Since I am not a gamer (even though I run one of the oldest Atari 8bit BBSes in the country since Jan 1984), it probably would have never occurred to me.

When I was running my BBS on Windows, I don't remember having to copy any additional DLLs into my sbbs\exec directory in order to get Synchronet to run.

As far as Visual Studio redistributables, I'm pretty sure the installer for those normally sets things up so that its DLLs are in the system path, so any program requiring them will be able to load them.

Neither did I on Windows 7.

The motherboard that I am running on my new machine ran 3.19b on it for over a year. That was Windows 10.

I only ran into the issue on this same mb trying to run 3.19b on windows 11.

You're trying to run a THREE AND A HALF (+) year old version of SBBS on
a modern OS. There have been *SO* many changes and improvements since
then. Why in the world would you want to run such an old/obsolete
    version of SBBS?

Is it because you're an "Autopilot "sysop"", and can't do anything but
copy over old files to a new machine? The installation and
configuration of a new version is beyond your abilities?

    Yeah.... that's what I thought.
